Google announced that its new mobile payment system, Android Pay which enables secure payment using your android phone at over one million locations has began roll out on 10th of September 2015. “Android Pay focuses on simplicity, security and choice. Using android pay will be quite simple” Google’s VP of Engineering for Android, Dave Burke said.
Credit and debit cards from American Express, Discover, Visa and Mastercard will all work with Android Pay. It as well stores gift and loyalty cards for use and with time, more features, banks and store locations will be added. Android Pay will only work on NFC enabled Android phones running on Android Kitkat OS and above in US.
For secured transactions, virtual account numbers will be issued instead of using the actual credit or debit card numbers and confirmation will be received as soon as payment is made that shows location where the transaction took place.
I hope people in other parts of the world will have access to this feature with time.
