You can now hide inappropriate comments on Instagram

As part of efforts to make Instagram safer and accommodating for anyone, the company has launched a new comment control feature that will allow users the freedom to remove unsavoury comments on their posts. To achieve this, Instagram has written a set of codes that will bring up possible inappropriate comments, based on commonly reported offensive comments or phrases, for a post. It is then left to the user to determine which comment is inappropriate and chose to block the comment.

In addition to the above, the new feature will allow users to add words and phrases they find inappropriate and wouldn’t want such words to be used on them or in their comment section. You can find the option to add words and phrases you find inappropriate below the toggle button for activating the auto-spot inappropriate comment.

That’s all we have on this new feature. Instagram faithfuls should have seen the new feature, if you are one but you do not visit your gear section (settings section) often. All you need to do is click on the gear icon on you profile and you will find the new comment tool. Fell free to use it in the manner that suits you.
