In line with their earlier promise, Facebook has added support for 360-degree picture on the Facebook website, this makes the social media site compatible with 360-degree videos and pictures. This new feature will allow users to view pictures that were taken in panaromic 360-degree photograph mode. It goes without saying that users can now upload pictures taking in panaroma camera mode. Also users of dedicated 360-degree image taking and video recording gadgets such as Samsung’s gear 360 camera and LG’s 360-degree cam, can upload pictures to the Facebook website. This new update is also being applied to the Facebook official app.
To identify a 360-degree picture, a small compass will be at a corner on the picture, clicking on it will allow you view the picture in its full glory. By the way, based on reports, the360 degree pictures and videos can be viewed with a Virtual reality headset, however, not all VR headsets are supported. Owners of Samsung’s Gear VR-compatible mobiles can view images amd videos via their VR headset and owners of Oculus rift VR headset are also expected.to access this function.
So thats all we have on this new fun feature Facebook has added. You can have a feel of it by using your phone to take pictures in panaroma mode and upload it on Facebook like you would do a normal picture. If your phones camera does not have panaroma camera feature, you can access the feature by downloading third party apps from Play Store.
