Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 are the latest great value budget devices from Nokia

Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 are the latest devices to join Nokia’s increasing portfolio of devices. As you would all recall, Nokia made their comeback onto the smartphone market early this year with the release of the Nokia 6. The device easily made its way to the 1 million preorder milestone as a result of its moderately great specs and sturdy build. Incase you’ve forgotten the specs of the device, here is a refresher, the Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen strengthened with a 2.5D corning Gorilla glass. Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 64GB internal memory. Nokia 6 comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 8MP front camera for selfie, wefies, video calls and so on. One notable feature of the Nokia 6 is its dual amplifiers; which according to the manufacturers (HMD) makes the devices audio have a 3D sound effect. Nokia 6 was initially exclusive to China but have been made available on a global scale although the device will ship globally in the second quarter. The device is priced at $242 for the basic variant while the special variant, the Nokia 6 ARTE addition, which has a piano black finish and 64GB storage clubbed with 4GB RAM sells for $299.

Meanwhile the Nokia 3 is the lowest of the three Nokia devices that has been released so far in 2017. Nokia 3 sheds the metal body found in Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 for a polycarbonate back cover. It measures 143.4 x 71.4 x 8.48 mm (8.68mm with camera hump). The device sports a 5-inch display and houses a MediaTek 6737, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage. The device is equipped with an efficient, 8MP front and back camera. Nokia 3 runs Android 7.0 out of the box and is powered by a 2650mAh battery. The pricing of the Nokia 3 is pegged at $147, this further places it in the low cadre of devices, as it expectedly should going by the specs. The device will ship in the second quarter of 2017 like its other counterparts and will come in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, and Copper White colours.

So that is all on the Nokia trio, throw in the reinvented Nokia 3310 (follow this link to know more on the Nokia 3310); then we call it a quadruple. Obviously, Nokia is bent on making a good comeback and they seem to be making a good progress. Nokia 3310 should resonate with those who used the phone back in the day and those who want a rock solid device, while the other devices should compete favourably with other devices in their price range. Whatever be the case, we will have to wait for Nokia’s financial report for the 4 quarters of 2017 to reach an informed conclusion on their progress so far.
