Samsung Galaxy J7 and J5 specifications

China’s telecommunication certification authority, TENAA, has certified two of Samsung devices, the Galaxy J7 and the Galaxy J5 2016 version (sequels to 2015 J7 and J5). TENAA released the specifications and pictures of the device, both devices are expected to launch soon haven being certified by TENAA.

The Galaxy J7 and J5 are mid-range devices with fairly decent specs. They were the first Samsung devices to sport a front LED flash. Both devices have matching specs, save for the J7’s 5.5 inch 1080 pixel display. The Galaxy J7 comes in two variants, SM-J7108 and SM-J7109, both variants sport a 13MP rear camera, 5MP  front facing camera both camera have LED flash, 3GB RAM and a 16GB internal memory that is expandable. The J7 variants will be powered by 3300 mAh batteries, which should be sufficient for daily activities – for the non-heavy users of course. The only between these two variants is found in their processors, the SM-J7108 is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, while the SM-J7109 is powered by an unknown octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz, and other four cores clocked at 1.2 GHz.

On the other hand, the Galaxy J5 sports a 5.2 inch 720 pixel display, a similar 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and a 5MP front camera both with LED flash. The J5 comes in with a less than stellar quad core processor that clocks up to 1.2GHz, the processor is clubbed with 2GB of RAM. The J5 has a 16GB worth of internal storage, which is also expandable.

In general, both these devices will come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed, with Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI layered on top. Both devices are expected to come with a plastic unibody judging by the pictures released by TENAA. Also looking at the pictures below, you can see that they sport a physical button below the display that sits between two capacitive buttons, just like every other Samsung-branded smartphone released lately.

This all we have on these devices, as for their availability, they should be expected sooner than later. The price tags of the phone should be pocket friendly considering that the phones specs sell them as top low-end to mid-end devices.
