Samsung recalls the Galaxy note7 over battery fire hazard, sales stopped temporarily.

The reports concerning Samsung’s Galaxy note7 battery fire hazard has spread considerably over the last few days and Samsung quickly acknowledged the issue by setting up an investigation. A prompt and swift decision was promised to curb the problem if it was determined to be valid. To this end, Samsung is now recalling the mobile device all over the world haven confirmed that the reports are true.

The Korean in a statement promised to provide replacements as soon as possible to all users who return their device regardless of the date of purchase.

Samsung’s statement
Samsung is committed to producing the
highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.
To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.
For customers who already have Galaxy
Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace
their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.
We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We are working closely with our partners to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible.

For now, sales of the device has been suspended until the faulty devices are withdrawn from the market and only unaffected Galaxy note 7 units remain.
Head of Samsung’s handset business division, Koh Dong-jin,assured the press that only 24 of every 1 million devices are at risk but the company wont be taking any risk with its users. While Samsung designed the battery cell, it outsourced the manufacturing to other companies and one of those factories is
to blame for the faulty battery.

It is worthwhile to see that Samsung is putting its users safety first no matter the cost of the recall safety program, this development will definitely increase the sales of the Galaxy Note 7’s competition.
