Sony Finally Unveils The Sony Xperia Z1 At IFA Today

A busy day it is, at the unveiling of newest gadgets at IFA Germany and the Sony Xperia Z1 was definitely not left out from the pack.

A fully water proof Smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1 is out with a one piece aluminum frame and fully equipped with a 20.7 Mega Pixel camera.

Sony went ahead to describe the Sony Xperia Z1 as a “watershed moment in Sony’s history”.

Asides the water proof feature which we find great, Sony seemed to focus on the camera function of the Xperia Z1, the 20.7 MP camera augmented by “clear image” zoom technology that Sony says will provide 3x zoom with no loss of clarity. This is definitely next to the Nokia Lumia 1020.

The Sony Xperia Z1 will arrive with pre-installed apps such as Social Live, an app that lets users “broadcast” to Facebook automatically; Info-eye, an app that will enable users to snap a pic then get info delivered automatically about the subject of the picture.

With the Timeshift Burst, users can take up to 60 images in an average of 2 seconds allowing users the opportunity of picking the best pics in the stack.

According to Sony, the SDK is open to developers as some are already up producing new apps for the camera.

Sony also announced other accessories such as Smart Watch 2 and Smart Image Stand. Other accessories mentioned are the new QX10 and QX100 attachable lenses for smartphones.
