Xiaomi unveils the Redmi PRO dubbed “the powerful Redmi ever”


Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi PRO dubbed “the most powerful Redmi ever” by the China based smartphone company. Redmi is part of the companies budget line of devices that aims offer more value for money and the Redmi PRO is no different. Sporting a brushed metal body that carries a 5.5-inch FullHD OLED display. The Xiaomi Redmi PRO certainly has a beautiful exterior. The device is powered by a Mediatek’s deca-core Helio X25 chipset with Mali-T880 GPU, and a 3/4GB RAM handles the processes, clubbed with a 32/64/128GB internal memory.


For pictures and videos, Redmi PRO comes with a dual rear camera, a 13MP main snapper and a 5MP depth sensor –
which Xiaomi says will allow you produce DSLR-quality bokeh effect. On the front, a 5MP wide-angle camera sits atop.

The device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The device hosts a finger print scanner in the home button key. The device will be powered by a 4050mAh battery.



Other notable features of the device includes; USB type-C port, VoLTE connectivity, it supports dual Sim – one of the SIM slots doubles as a Micro SD card slot. The device Measures 151.5 x 76.2 x 8.15mm and weighs in at 174g. Redmi PRO comes in gold, silver colours.

As for pricing and availability, Redmi PRO will be available in China starting from August 8. The device will be priced at $225 (over 60,000) for the Helio X20 SoC and 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage, $255 (over #65,000)for the Helio X25 SoC and 3GB RAM/64GB internal storage, $300 ( over #90,000) for the Helio X25 and 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
In Dollars the Redmi PRO is really cheap (reasonably priced) going by the features it offers and comparing it with prices of devices produced by luxury brands. However, the current hike in Dollar to Naira exchange rate has made the low price of the Redmi PRO insignificant to us. Regardless, this a device worth owning if you have the means.
